bonjour, après un certains temps d'absence me revoilà,
je suppose que certains d'entre vous sont déjà passé en wm 6.5 fr mais pour les autres voici le liens

en résumé pour ceux comme moi qui sont reste dans la version wm6 proposé par asus
se sera un grand changement, je ne connais pas la 6.1 .. donc bref

1.formater votre carte sd en fat 16..ou dans Windows faite démarrer>exécuter>compmgmt.msc
Puis cliquez sur gestion des disques..vous verrez apparaitre votre disque dur ainsi que la carte sd..
sur la carte sd faite clique droit>formater>FAT (et non fat32)

2 télécharger et décompresser l'archive..faite un copier/coller de CANNES_A_WM6.img sur votre carte sd

3.insérez votre carte sd et brancher votre pda (chargeur secteur)...
4. mettre le pda sur une surface stable..avec votre mains gauche appuyer en méme temps sur
a) Index ou Majeur sur le bouton de démarrage
b) Pouce sur le bouton rond centrale (du pavé directionnel)
c) avec votre mains droite enfoncez le stylet deux fois dans l'emplacement reset..
Si un écran bleu apparait le flashage commence..

5.le flashage est assez rapide..le pda va redémarre et reste un certains moment sur un écran orange avec logo Windows soyez patient

Ps: je suis directement passez de wm6 a wm6.5 sans passez par 6.1....

Asus Mypal A6x6 WM6.5.5 rom version 6 (1-1-11)

WARNING: This is a release of Windows Mobile 6.5.5. Due to changes to os code, SOME older programs WILL NOT WORK. By this, I mean that an older program may execute as normal, but some of the menu options might not work due to the start button being moved to the bottom of the screen instead of the top like it was with WM6.5 and older. As far as I know, this is an os thing, so I CANNOT change this.


Merry Christmas everyone! Here's a Christmas present for ya, a new rom for the A626, A686, and A696. This rom uses the new WM6.5 interface. I was also able to finally figure out what was wrong with the config file for the registry package and fix it, so I am going to be including the registry editor from now on (unless public outcry warrants otherwise). For those of you who are waiting for a new rom with the old WM6.5 interface, I have been trying to find the latest build that doesn't have the new WM6.5 interface with it. The WM6.5 international roms are coming in the next day or two. College finals was a <sarcastic>fun</sarcastic> time for me, so I didn't have much time for rom building then, but I don't go back to college until some time around Martin Luther King Day (here in the US), so I should have plenty of time for finishing the international roms.

Thanks to Makuu (for helping to get me started), Lenny, AstainHellbring (thank you for all the nightly help sessions), the creators of the tools I used to make this rom, and anyone else that I failed to mention in name who gave me the knowledge to complete this rom.

This was tested on an Asus Mypal A626 (and works). It should work with the A686/A696, but the other models were not tested. Any other models NOT mentioned above WILL NOT WORK.

Instructions (I have included a txt file with same instructions for offline convenience)

Before you do anything, make sure you have at least a 256mb SD card and a card reader (you can get one at a place like Radio Shack or Office Depot). You also need to install winrar (found at http://www.win-rar.com/download.html). Your SD card must be formatted with the FAT16 file system.

To format your SD Card with the FAT16 file system

Step 1: To do this insert the SD Card into the reader and go to "My Computer".
Step 1a: BACKUP YOUR FILES before you start!!
Step 2: Right-click the drive letter of the SD Card reader (differs for each computer, probably either E:\ or F:\ or G:\) and click "Format".
Step 2a: Don't worry about any of the options except for file system, choose "FAT"
Step 3: Click "Start" and wait until it is done

Step 1: Get (OS) rom image
Step 2: Extract files to any folder on hard drive using Winrar
Step 3: Go to the folder where you extracted the files in the RAR archive
Step 4: Make sure that the filename is "CANNES_A_WM6.img"
Step 4a: if the img file it's not exactly "CANNES_A_WM6.img", rename it to that
Step 5: Format the SD card if you haven't already done so using the instructions above
Step 6: Copy the img file to the SD card, see step 6a
Step 6a: Make sure that the img file is the ONLY file on the SD card after formatting
Step 7: Take SD Card out of SD Card reader and put it in the a6x6
Step 8: Make sure that the a6x6 is plugged in via ac adapter before doing the next few steps
Step 9: activate SD Loader using the following instructions {
Step 9a: Hold down the power button and enter button (that's the button in the center of the d-pad)
Step 9b: Double tap the soft reset button while holding the other 2 buttons
Step 9c: After double tapping the soft reset button, keep the other 2 buttons held until a blue screen comes up that says something like Asus Cannes flashing utility
Step 9d: Wait until the process is finished (it's near the end when it says "writing private")
}
Step 10: At this point, your a6x6 should reboot on its own
Step 11: enjoy your updated rom

As I release new roms, if you have a support question, please give me the rom version so I know what rom you are working with. You can get the rom version from the filename of the rom pack.

Example: Asus_A626_WM614_1
A626 = device (most often it will be A626, will rarely be different), WM614 = os version, 1 = release #

I finally have some international roms up for download. In addition, all talk about the international roms for the A6x6 are now confined to the respective WM6.1 and WM6.5 A6x6 rom threads. Thanks.

I'm possibly getting an issue. When I get to step 9c, mine says:
Probing USB interface >>>
USB interface connected.
Waiting for download!

then it just seems to sit there, any thoughts? Or is it working without telling me?

Solved my own problem, I would suggest not using a large SD card for this. I was using a 4gb, which is the largest FAT can use, and it was giving me issues. I switched to a 1gb and it seems to be going fine.

The "cache" is set to 2048, so it will leave a bit more memory for iGO itself for calculations. "reserve_memory" is set to 1,5 MB: iGO may take all available memory of the device but leaves 1,5 MB unused. If you leave out this setting, iGO will leave 4 MB, but to my experience sometimes a "memory full" message appears with long route calculations.
