ARM7 based embedded board training kit priced below 50$A tiny startup called NGX Technologies in Bangalore has made available an ARM7 based embedded systems training kit at a low price of Rs 2000/- (approximate 40 to 50US$). It packs more than expected features at such a low price. The processor chip with ARM7TDMI core used in this board is LPC2148 microcontroller from NXP Semiconductor.
The board features two UART interfaces, one USB interface, SD Card interface, PS2, VGA, JTAG and audio output. It has simple on-board LCD display of size 2line x 16 character. The LPC2148's pins can be accessed by the user through lined solder pads on the board. The embedded board can be powered either through a USB port or through an external DC source.
"This lowest priced embedded board is not a mere training kit, it's nearly a single board computer" said Vinay Patil, Director of NGX Technologies.
